About Daniel Sofer
I’ve been taking pictures almost my entire life, but I really became serious about it 20 years ago.
Among other things, I started a website blog, Hermosawave Picture of the Day, where I endeavor to post one good photograph every day.
There are over 4000 photographs there now, spanning four continents, from wherever I happen to be. At first that was mostly Hermosa Beach, in Southern California, but now I am in Kyoto more than anywhere else.
- Born 1952 in Massachusetts, USA.
- Graduated from the University of Southern California, Dornsife School of Letters, Arts & Science in 1974.
- Graduated from Mills College (CA) in 1976, specializing in Electronic Music and Multimedia.
- A varied career in digital media, including music recording and performance, laser light entertainment (Laserium), and electronic musical instruments (Oberheim, Kawai).
- First came to Japan in 1984, to introduce Oberheim electronic musical instruments.
- In 1989, started Interface International Communications, for Japanese publishing, product localization, and multimedia.
- Started web design agency Hermosawave Internet in 1997.
- In 2002, started Hermosawave Photography for architecture and product photography, and the Hermosawave Picture of the Day daily photo blog.

私は昔からいつも写真を撮ってきたが、20年前から本格的に写真撮影に取り組むようになった。
そんな中で、ウェブサイトのブログ「Hermosawave Picture of the Day」を立ち上げ、毎日1枚は良い写真を投稿しようと努めている。
今、そこにある写真は4000枚を超え、4つの大陸にまたがっている。最初は南カリフォルニアのハーモサ・ビーチが多かったが、今はどこよりも京都にいる。
- 1952年アメリカマサチューセッツ州に生まれる。
- 1974年南カリフォルニア大学文化部卒業。
- 1976年ミルズ大学（カリフォルニア州）電子音楽とマルチメディア専門卒業。
- レーザーライトエンターテインメント（Laserium）、電子楽器（Oberheim、Kawai）など、デジタルメディアにおける様 々なキャリアを持つ。
- 1984年、オーバーハイムのプロ用電子楽器を紹介するために初来日。
- 1989年、出版、製品、マルチメディアのローカライズを行うインターフェイス・インターナショナル・コミュニケーションズを設立。
- 1997年、ウェブデザイン会社Hermosawave Internetを設立。
- 2002年、建築やプロダクトの写真撮影を行うHermosawave Photographyを立ち上げ、Hermosawave Picture of the Dayという写真ブログを毎日更新し、現在4000枚以上の写真をオンラインで公開している。
